Using a white stoneware clay body, I throw each piece on a potter’s wheel or hand build it, finishing most pieces with decorative stamping to enhance the texture of the glazes. I hand mix and formulate my own glazes from raw chemicals and gas fire to cone 11. This high temperature ensures durability, as well as rich, not flat color. Many pots are doubled fired, that is they go back through the kiln a second time, which brings an even more “luxurious” look to the piece. My pots are fully functional and can be used in the oven or microwave.
